OK — been on this thing for about four months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d write something up since someone asked me last week. Am based in the UK, mostly do football and horses, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.

How I found it was honestly pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way return actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just wing it and get a shock. These days I stick my stake in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.

Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I’m on daily — type in your stake, the odds and it spits out profit and total return with no faffing, either odds format. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15s, a yankee, and that’s where I’d always mess it up. If you want a look, it’s here trixie calc and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

The thing that genuinely changed how I bet were the nerdier tools. There’s an odds-to-probability converter which shows you the overround, and a kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly as the full version is terrifying. The dutching one is handy too if I’m splitting a race.

It’s not perfect mind. The design feels very functional, let’s say — no polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s fine though the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me just flagging it.

Right, that’s me. Free, barely any ads, works. Anyone who honestly works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — it’s saved me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
