Alexander Jonathan Lawther, popularly known as Alex Lawther, who is an English actor, known for his incredible performances and the roles he played in the series and movies. He is mainly known for the role of James he played in the Channel 4 series titled “The End of the F***ing World”, starting from 2017 to 2018. Also, he got critical acclaim for the role of Kenny he played in the season 3 episode titled “Shut Up and Dance” of the “Black Mirror”, (2016) which was a Netflix series. This was the most-watched series that people streamed on Netflix. Since then, Alex Lawther became popular.

He was born on 4th 1995, Winchester, Hampshire while he raised and grew up in Petersfield. He is youngest among three siblings while his parents worked in the law sector, his brother Cameron Lawther works as a film producer and older sister, Ellie Lawther works in public policy.

Career

At the age of 16, Alex Lawther started his professional career with a debut movie as he appeared in David Hare’s film “South Downs”. In the film, he played the role of John Blakemore for which he got recognition from his fans and followers.

In 2014, he made his feature film debut in “The Imitation Game” in which he played the role of a young Alan Turing and the film won the Academy Award. In 2015, he won the London Film Critics’ Circle Award for “Young British Performer of the Year for the role he played in “The Imitation Game”.

In 2015, he worked in the critically acclaimed drama film “X+Y” in which he appeared in a supporting role.

In 2016, he appeared in a lead role for the first time in the British film “Departure” in which he played the role of Elliot along with Juliet Stevenson. While it was the debut film of the famed actor Andrew Steggall.

In 2016, Alexander Lawther portrayed the main character of Kenny in “Shut Up and Dance”, season 3 episode of Netflix series “Black Mirror”. While it got mixed reviews, but the most-talented actor received recognition for giving the best performance.
