Anthony Hopkins is a renowned Welsh actor, film producer and film director. In the year 1992, he was bestowed with Academy Award for the Best Actor and was elected three times. Anthony Hopkins has also received two Emmys, three BAFTAs and Cecil B. DeMille Award. In the year 1993, he was bestowed by Queen Elizabeth II for his proficient services towards arts. Anthony Hopkins was born in Margam, United Kingdom on 31th December, 1937. His parents were Richard Arthur Hopkins and Annie Muriel. Hopkins was exhilarated by a Welsh compatriot named Richard Burton, with whom he met at his 15 years of age. Anthony quickly enrolled himself at Royal Welsh College of Drama & Music in Cardiff, from which he earned his graduation degree in 1957.

In the year 1987, Anthony Hopkins was elected as a Commander of Order of British Empire, and was conferred for services to arts at Buckingham Palace. In the year 1988, he was awarded with an honorary D.Litt. degree and in the year 1992, he also earned an honorary comradeship from University of Wales. In the year 1996, Anthony Hopkins was made a freeman of his region called Port Talbot.
