Aurora Perrineau is an American actress and model. She is best known for starring Shana Elmsford in Jem and the Holograms (2015). She is of mixed-race origin. Jem aka Jem and the Holograms are a live-action film adaptation of animated television series (1985-1988). Also, her other television work includes Fox’s Prodigal Son (TV series, 2019-2021) as Detective Dani Powell.
Career
Aurora Perrineau is a model registered to Click Model Management, Inc. She first starred in the direct-to-video action film Air Collision (2012) and appeared in episodes of Newsreaders (2014). From 2014 to 2015, she appeared as Margo in the television drama series Chasing Life.
In April 2014, she joined the cast in the role of Shana in the film-based cartoon Jem and The Holograms. The film came under fire to cast her, a straight-haired, biracial actress for the role of Shana. But the film turned out a box office flop, only earning $1.4 million on its opening weekend.
In July 2014, Aurora Perrineau joined the cast in Drake Doremus’s science fiction romantic drama film, Equals (2015). The film had its world opening at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 5, 2015.
She also had a minor role in the film Passengers (2016) and later joined the cast as Giselle Hammond in the Blumhouse supernatural thriller film Truth or Dare (2018). Also in 2018, she played two roles, like in the episode “The Body” and “All That We Destroy” in the horror TV series Into the Dark.
