Dawid Johannes Malan is a known English batsman. Malan was born on 3rd September 1987 and is playing for England as well as Yorkshire County Cricket Club. H is the brother of former English cricketer Chari Malan and the son of Dawid who was a right-handed batsman and represented the Western Province B, Northern Transvaal B, and Teddington. Basically, Malan is a left armed batsman but can also perform as a leg-spin bowler.

Career Journey

Malan initially played to represent Boland in South Africa and played for the season of 2005 to 2006 cricket.  Then he also played for the MCC Young Cricketers in 2006. Malan made his first XI debut for Middlesex on 7 July 2006 in a Twenty20 Cup versus Surrey at The Oval.

In the next year, in 2007 Malan became the top run-scorer with scoring the 969 runs at 51.00 in the Second XI Championship. The success was not ended here, he made the first-class debut in June 2008 for Middlesex where he scoring 132 and remained not out.

Malan has also hit the 24th century by scoring 103 off 54 balls, which was not done in the history of the Twenty20 Cup. He got this success in the quarter-final match against the Lancashire Lightning, on 8th July 2008. That earned him to shine as the first player who ever scores a century batting and stands at number six in the T20 match. He remained the highest scorer until July 2018. 

Malan has also performed for Peshawar Zalmi for the first season of Pakistan Super League where they won the Final match in Lahore and earned a huge fan following in Pakistan. Now a day, he is playing for the Islamabad United team for the season of 2020.

When we talk about the international career of Malan he was named for the Twenty20 International (T20I) squad in June 2017 for the series played for England against South Africa. He got the man of the match award for his best batting performance, as a result, England won this match

Malan was also played for England in the One Day International (ODI) squad in April 2019 against Ireland for their one-off match. In this series, he made his ODI debut Ireland on 3 May 2019 against.

Malan was scored his first century in the ODI debut in the fourth T20I match against New Zealand that was held on 8th November 2019.
