Keshia Knight Pulliam is a well-known American actress. She is best known for her childhood role as Rudy Huxtable, from the ages of 5 to 13, on the sitcom The Cosby Show (TV series, 1984–1992). She appeared as an adult as Miranda Lucas-Payne on the comedy-drama sitcom Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TV series 2007–present). Knight Pulliam earned her the 2009 and 2010 NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in the series.
Career
In 1986, she became one of the youngest actresses to be chosen for an Emmy Award. At age 6, she received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in A Comedy Series. She made her professional debut at 9 months old, in an advertisement for Johnson & Johnson baby products. At age 3, she was on the educational children’s series Sesame Street (TV series).
Keshia Knight Pulliam continued working and appeared in television commercials, TV shows, and feature films. She made her feature film debut in The Last Dragon (1985). She also appeared in Polly (1989) and its sequel Polly: Comin’ Home! (1990)
VH1 ranked her at No. 27 on the list of the “100 Greatest Kid Stars”. Knight Pulliam earned a celebrity version of Fear Factor in 2002 and also won a celebrity version of The Weakest Link and took part in Celebrity Mole: Yucatan.
She appeared in Chingy’s music video for One Call Away in 2004. Her other film credits include Motives (2004), Beauty Shop (2005), The Gospel (2005), Death Toll (2008), and Madea Goes to Jail (2009).
Keshia Knight Pulliam appeared in Tank’s 2010 music video for his cover of I Can’t Make You Love Me. In 2013, she was a candidate in the celebrity diving show Splash. But she was the first to be defeated. In 2015, she was a candidate for the Celebrity Apprentice Season 7. But she was the first contestant disqualified after being the losing project manager for her team.
