In 1967, Gilbert started off her acting career with ‘The Reluctant Astronaut’. In 1979, she appeared as Clara in Nutcracker Fantasy.

In 1985, she acted in ‘Sylvester’ in which she portrayed the role of Charlie. In the following year, she appeared in Drug-Free Kids: A Parent’s Guide’.
