An American actress, Melissa Ellen Gilbert who is known for being a most celebrated television director, producer, politician, and former president of the Screen Actors Guild where she served from 2001 to 2005. Additionally, she ran for US Congress as a Democrat in Michigan’s 8th congressional district and she won the Democratic primary in 2016. Later, Gilbert dropped out due to her health issues facing from a 2012 accident.
Career
In 1967, Gilbert started off her acting career with ‘The Reluctant Astronaut’. In 1979, she appeared as Clara in Nutcracker Fantasy.
In 1985, she acted in ‘Sylvester’ in which she portrayed the role of Charlie. In the following year, she appeared in Drug-Free Kids: A Parent’s Guide’.
Apart from acting in movies, she also made brilliant appearances in television series including ‘Emergency’, ‘The Love Boat’, ‘Tenafly’ (1973), ”Gunsmoke’ (1972), and many more that are on the top of the list. And the viewers are in love with her wonderful performances.
