Mohammad Nabi is an Afghani cricketer. His full name is Mohammad Nabi Essa Khel. His birthplace is Logar, Afghanistan, and his birth date is 1st January 1985. He moved to Peshawar with his family at the age of 10. Later in the year 2000, he switched back to Afghanistan. His father’s name is Khobi Khan. He belongs to a Pathan family. M. Nabi is an all-rounder in cricket. He started playing cricket in Peshawar at the age of 10 and later he become a professional player. He is best at bowling as an off-break bowler and he is also a right-handed batsman. Nabi is married and he is a father of a son named Rohan Khan. He is mostly known for being a captain in limited-overs matches. He is a top-scoring cricketer of Afghanistan.

Career Journey

Mohammad Nabi wanted to become a cricketer since his childhood. He started his career in this field at his teenage age. In 2003, Nabi played his first debut match for team Afghanistan against the team Raheem Yar Khan. The team of Afghanistan was not in good form at that time but Nabi made the score of 61 runs for his team.

Later in 2006, He played against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in a tour match held in Mumbai, India. In this match he made a century with 116 runs, this was a huge win for team Afghanistan. After that, he got selected by Mike Gatting for MCC Young Cricketer in England.

In 2007, he played his first-class match against Sri Lanka and scored 43 runs in the first innings.

In 2008, Nabi become part of team Afghanistan in ICC World Cricket League Division Five, he played all seven matches of the tournament.

In 2009 Nabi also played for Afghanistan in ICC World Cricket League Division Three. Nabi played in the 2009–10 ICC Intercontinental Cup for Afghanistan against Zimbabwe and it was his first first-class match. Nabi becomes the captain of the team Afghanistan in March 2013 for ICC Intercontinental Cup held in UAE. He also played for team Sylhet Royals for Bangladesh Premier League in 2013.

In the 2014 Asia Cup, Afghanistan went for their first International ODI tournament. Afghanistan won the tournament against Bangladesh in the captaincy of Muhammad Nabi. But later in 2015, Nabi resigned as a captain because of the poor performance of the team in the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

In the 2016 ICC World Twenty20, Nabi gave his performance for his team and defeated Zimbabwe and Hong Kong in the tournament. Nabi was a part of Quetta Gladiator in Pakistan Super League 2016. In 2017, he got a chance to play in the Indian Premier League for team Sunrisers Hyderabad. On 14 June 2014, He played his first test tournament for Afghanistan against India. In the 2019 Cricket World Cup, He played with team Afghanistan versus team Pakistan. Arshad is now playing for Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League Season 6.
