Kesavan Venugopal, popularly known as Nedumudi Venu, who is an actor, hailing from India and works in the Malaylam film industry. He is widely recognized as one of the best actors in the cinematic world. Moreover, he has worked in more than 500 movies and exclusively worked in the Tamil and Telugu cinema. Also, he is a great scriptwriter and has written screenplays and also directed one film. What’s more, he is the victor of 31 awards in different categories.

He did schooling from NSS Higher Secondary School, and St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School. He earned a degree of bachelors from S.D College, Alappuzha. Thereafter, he worked as a journalist in Kalakaumudi, and also worked as a teacher as well.

Career

He started his career working as a theatre actor and later, he stepped into the film industry and started appearing in movies. Also, he was a dedicated member of Kavalam Narayan Panicker’s dramas.

In 1978, he made a film debut “Thambu” which was directed by G. Aravindan. Also, he acted in various movies like; “Aaravam” which was directed by Bharathan, and also worked in “Oridathoru Phayalwan” which was directed by Padmarajan and others are worth sharing.

Being a great writer, he has written few screenplays for movies, such as; “Kattathe Kilikkoodu”, “Theertham” “Sruthi” and others are notable pieces.

Alongside this, he directed a movie named “Pooram”. Also, he has worked in a few Tamil movies “Indian”, “Anniyan” and others.

Venu has also worked in television serials. Moreover, he worked in the movie “Parinamam” which was directed by P.Venu that won the screenplay award at the Ashdod International Film Festival.

However, he has established himself as the best character in multiple domains of cinema and became a successful star.

Among various notable achievements, he has won the Best Supporting Actor for the movie “His Highness Abdullah” in 1990. Also, he won the Special Jury Award for the movie “Margam” in 2003.
