A viral prodigy, youth icon, rock star, one of the popular composers in South India or best known as Anirudh Ravichander is a well-known Indian film composer and singer, who has sung a number of Tamil, Telugu, and Indian language songs both as a music composer or singer. Anirudh initially worked in Tamil cinema who eventually moved to Telugu and Indian cinema too. Anirudh was born on 16 October 1990 to a veteran Indian actor Ravi Raghavendra in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Just at the age of 21st, he has been etching over 198,063,891 views on YouTube as of 2019 which garnered him to compose numerous hit songs after his first breakthrough.

What was Anirudh’s breakthrough performance?

Anirudh Ravichander rose to fame after his breakthrough performance in one of the super hit song ‘Why This Kolaveri Di.’ Reportedly, the song was the most searched YouTube video of India within the time of just a few weeks. Moreover, it was also an internet phenomenon across Asia.  Due to this huge popularity within the short span of time on the internet his song was honored by the YouTube with a ‘”Recently Most Popular” Gold Medal award and “Trending” silver medal award.

Anirudh remained very numb for the first few days after his first debut film as a composer

As told by Anirudh, he became very numb and did not show any worries about his song for the first few days then eventually the results came in the form of his admiration by the huge peoples. He said, For the first two-three days, I went numb… very numb. Compliments started pouring in from all quarters and everyone I would meet, would come up to me and say, ‘Thank you for such a lovely song’.

He was hated by his college principle!!!

During an interview with the most popular Indian newspaper The Time of India, a 21-year-old as of 2011, successful music composer, Anirudh Ravichander, said that his principal and professors of his college, who has hated him in college, now are proud of him. He said, ‘My professors, the principal, they used to hate me in college and rightly so, I had very poor attendance. But some days back, my principal called up to say, ‘I am proud to have you in my college’.

He has a band group consist of his friend since his college day

As described by him, Anirudh has a keen interest since college. Since his college days, he has a friend group whose are the violinist, and the sound engineer, etc., who appreciate Anirudh very-well. As he said, ‘I never used to go to college in the first place. But the best part is that I had a band when I was in school and another in college. The core group remains the same. The violinist, the sound engineer ‘ they are all my friends. We have been together for a long time. I play new tunes to them and immediately get their feedback. It’s been extremely encouraging.’

Anirudh has rejected some Bollywood offers as he is so concerned about his work

His talk to the Anchorperson revealed that he doesn’t like to do any incomplete work and don’t engage himself simultaneously in many worked as Anirudhis has so concern about his work. ‘Bollywood is big and I have quite a few films offers but then all of them want to feature ‘Kolaveri Di’. Bollywood will happen eventually, but right now, I’m concentrating on the work at hand. I can’t be a full-time Bollywood composer as I’ve started in Tamil Nadu. If I leave now, people will say, ‘See, this guy ran away after one film!’ I want to choose the best of what I get’

He won such a big quantity of awards within a short career span.

The actor has won the 38 awards on various award functions in which honorary national awards and international awards are also included, like Pride of Tamil Nadu 2017 awards, Audi Ritz Style Awards -South India’s Most Admired Musical Prodigy Award, Social Media Icon award at the Global Mobile Apps Summit & Awards, Provoke Lifestyle Awards – Best Music Director 2015–2016, Mirchi Music Awards Tamil for the best Music composer, Song of the Year, Album of the year for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Cinema Express Award – Best Music Director for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Mirchi Listeners’ Choice – Album of the Year Mirchi Music Awards South for the film 3, New York Best New Music Talent Award for “Ai Dil Mere” (Promotional track for MTV’s Rush), Government of Uttar Pradesh award for Best New talent music director for the film 3, Best Indian of the Year award for the film 3 honored by Government of India, and UK Music Academy Awards for Most World Popular Music Director for the film 3.

He will be next sung the four Tamil language songs which are Indian 2, Thalapathy 64, # SK17 by Vignesh Shivan, and Darbar in the coming years of 2020.

He was one of the active boys since his school day

Except for his studies, he was a very active student in all the fields since his school day from singing to leading, acting, etc. Anirudh has remained the School Pupil Leader or in other words a Head Boy at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, K.K. Nagar.
