Peter Bensley is an Australian actor, born on 6th February 1954 in Warialda, New South Wales. He is notable for his earliest roles including ‘Dennis Braithwaite’ on the Seven Network drama series named ‘Class of 74’. Also, he is known for appearing on the ABC TV children’s show named ‘Waterloo Street’ with long hair.


Bensley made an appearance in several Grundy TV soap operas including ‘The Restless Years’ (1979), ‘The Young Doctors’ (1980 -1983). In the series, he played the role of Dr. Mike Newman’.

In 1984, Bensley made an appearance in ‘Prisoner’ in which he was one of the three male prisoners, Matt Delaney, who appeared in 34 episodes.

In 1986, Peter Bensley acted in ‘Neighbors’ wherein he appeared as a guest character Tony Chapman’. From 1988 to 1990, he appeared in ‘Home and Away’ as a school teacher Andrew Foley.

In 2009, Bensley returned to ‘Neighbors’ and made an appearance in two episodes as a guest role as Dean Naughton.


The actor is popular for appearing in noble roles including ‘The New Adventures of Black Beauty’ as Dr. John Austin.  Among others, ‘Water Rats’, ‘Mirror Mirror’, are some of them wherein he gave brilliant performances.
