Philip Seymour Hoffman was an American actor who was born on 23rd July 1967 and died on 2nd  February 2014. He was known as an acclaimed director, and producer.

He is still remembered for his supporting and character roles. He worked in many films and played leading roles from the 90s until his death in 2014.


Philip Seymour Hoffman was born and grew up in Fairport, NYC,USA. He started off his career through theatre. Initially, he attended a stage production of Arthur Miller’s ‘All My Sons at age 12’.

Hoffman was a well-known, talented, and most celebrated actor who got trained in acting from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

In 1991, he started his career through the episode of ‘Law & Order’ and later, made an appearance in 1992. He also earned recognition for his supporting work, mainly in ‘Scent of a Woman’, released in 1992.

Philip Hoffman, however, made prolific career by working on innumerable movies. And some of them are most popular, such as; ‘Patch Adams’ in 1998, ‘Happiness’ in 1998, ‘Boogie Nights; in 1997, ‘Twister’ in 1996, and many more that are worth watching.

It’s hard to explain his qualities in just few words as the veteran (late) actor established himself a renowned, iconic character in the Hollywood industry. We can see his excellent acting prowess in his remarkable performances.
