Vijay Varma is a film actor, hailing from India, and has worked in the Telugu and Bollywood film industry. He has worked in several movies during his film career. He belongs to a family that lived in Hyderabad. The young, most talented star applied to FTII and got in but his parents were not in favor of him to join the acting line. One of his friends helped him financially, and later, he went to FTII Pune.
Career
The brilliant actor, Bijay Varma took the start of a career working with s theatre group where he played various roles in plays. He then moved to Pune to pursue a two-year formal education at FTII where he took acting classes. After completing his graduation, he moved into Mumbai where he started looking for movies.
His first role was in the short film named “Shor” directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. Fortunately, the film got huge appreciation and also screened at festivals and won the Best Short Film at the MIAAC festival, New York that year.
In 2016, he worked in the most acclaimed movie “Pink” which was directed by Annirudha Roy. While he appeared as Ankit Malhotra. Vijay Varma has acted in 15 movies from 2012 to 2020. Moreover, he appeared in three web series including “A Suitable Boy” released in 2010, “Cheers friends- Runion, Goa (2018), and also worked in “She” released in 2020.
Achievements
In 2019, he won the nomination for the 26th Screen Award for the category of Best Supporting Actor for the movie “Gully Boy. Also, he nominated by 65th Filmfare Awards for the category of Best Supporting Actor in 2020.
