    Lilian Baron who is known by her stage name Lynda is an English actress, singer and comedian. She is most popularly known for the sitcom ‘Open All Hours’. The BBC sitcom featured Lynda alongside Sir David Jason and Ronnie Barker as Nurse Gladys Emmanuel in the hit show. It ran four series began in 1976. Lynda likewise showed up in the spin-off Still Open All Hours when it returned back in 2013. She played character of Auntie Mabel during the 1990s BBC youngsters’ program Come Outside. The Lancashire-local likewise showed up in the ITV sitcom Oh No, It’s Selwyn Froggitt. Baron furthermore played a minor part in BBC drama EastEnders portraying Linda Clarke, the mom of Jane Beale. Different appearances also include Doctor Who, Last Of The Summer Wine and Dinner Ladies.

    The entertainer thought about her career in 2020, and told the Sunday Post: I loved playing Nurse Gladys and Auntie Mabel but I couldn’t name my favourite of the different characters I have played. She expressed that it is because she is actually the kind of human who likes to look forward and thought what she is doing now and, what she will do next. The actress Baron died on Monday, 7th March. The news of her demise is confirmed by her agent Donna French. She said in a statement, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved client Lynda Baron. Her iconic roles of Nurse Gladys in Open All Hours and Aunt Mabel in Come Outside were loved by all generations. We have lost a leading light of the world.” However, the reason of Baron’s death is not revealed yet.
