Arun Kumar, popularly known as Arun Vijay-is an Indian actor and the son of an iconic film actor Vijaya Kumar. He has been working in the Tamil cinema since 1995 and made his career broad. He was born on 19th November 1977, Chennai, India where he raised and grew up along with siblings and parents. He completed his studies from Loyola College and after completing it, he then decided to join the film industry.
Arun Vijay was so passionate about acting since childhood and wanted to pursue acting as a career. Being a son of a veteran film actor, he always used to inspire by his father. He took an interest in acting after watching movies of his father. And since then, he desired to be an actor. However, his father encouraged him to take part in co-curricular activities, like; swimming, horse riding, dancing to hone skills. In grade 10th, Arun Vijay got film offers but his father wanted him to complete his studies first.
Career
Aun Vijay started his career in 1995 and appeared in A.R Rahman’s musical “Love Story” which was an acting debut of him. But the project got delayed and he accepted another offer to work in a movie “Murai Mappillai” which was directorial of Sundar. C which was released in 1995. Being a trained dancer, he was praised by his fans and music lovers.
In 1996, he appeared in another movie “Priyam” while the music was composed by Vidyasagar. Fortunately, the songs of the film became hit and many music lovers enjoyed the Tamil music.
Later, he joined another venture and appeared in two movies “Kathirunda Kadhal and “Ganga Gowri” which was the production of Ganga Gowri and the movies were released in 1997.
Since then, he frequently appeared in the movies and marked his identity in the cinematic world. He always credits his parents for his success as he found them extremely supportive throughout his film career.
However, he has been working since 1995, and now he holds a special place in the Tamil film industry. Whereas his fans noted him for his brilliant acting prowess that makes him stand out.
Achievements
Among various prestigious awards and honors, he was honored with various awards and nominations, he won the Filmfare Awards South for the Best Male Debut-South for a movie “Murai Mapillai” in 1995 and the list goes on. Also, he earned a few nominations as well.
