David Wiese is a South African pace bowling all-rounders, he is a right-handed batsman as well as a right-arm fast-medium bowler. Wiese has played in various international and national franchise leagues. He was born on 18th May 1985 in Roodepoort, Transvaal Province, South Africa. Initially, he played for his national side since 2013, before retirement. Wiese has made more than 67 first-class debuts since October 2005.
Career Journey
David started his cricket career in 2005. He got his real breakthrough in first-class cricket when he selected to play in the 2009 Hong Kong Cricket Sixes for South Africa. Wiese gives an excellent performance as leading wicket-taker. After then he invited the two matches of South Africa Invitation XI against England.
He has also made his T20 international debut on 2nd August 2013 against Sri Lanka. The success was not ended here, Wiese gave his first appearance in One Day International debut against New Zealand from his national side, South Africa on 19 August 2015. However, his last One Day International debut was against England that holds on 14th February 2016. In the following year, he appeared in his last T20 international series that was also against Sri Lanka, held on 28 March 2016
On 9th January 2017, Wiese was offered a Kolpak deal by the Sussex County Cricket Club, unfortunately, that deal proved to be ineligible him to personate South Africa anymore, which lead to end his international career. In the same year in August 2017, Wiese then appeared in Benoni Zalmi’s squad for the first season of the T20 Global League.
When we talk about his domestic career, he has played in Indian premier leagues and was a member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team for 2015 to 2016. Apart from this, he has played in many national domestic crickets, like Easterns and Titans since the last 2000s to present. He was also a member of Barbados Tridents of Caribbean premier league in 2016, and Khulna Titans of Bangladesh premier league since 2018.
As concerned as, Pakistan Super League (PSL), he has played for Karachi Kings in 2018. Currently, the cricketer is performing for Lahore Qalandars in Pakistan Super League (PSL).
