Iftikhar Ahmed is an international Pakistani cricket player who was born on 3rd September 1990, in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He played as all-rounder batsman as well as a Right-arm off-break bowler.
Initially, he played for Peshawar Panthers in 2010. Then played for WAPDA squad from 2011-18. In his 2017 cricket debut for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, Ahmed was the leading run-scorer in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy of 2017–18 session. He scored 735 runs in 11 matches.
On 27 January 2017, he made his debut in the 2016–17 Regional One Day Cup. In the final round, he scored 131 not out along with 3 wickets for only 12 runs. Ahmed along with Gauhar Ali jointly named as the man of the match in that tournament. He next then played for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the 2017 Pakistan Cup where Ahmed was the leading run-scorer with 244 runs in just 4 matches.
In 2018, he represented the Sindh squad in the 2018 Pakistan Cup. In this tournament, he played as an opening batsman with 116 runs that he scored against Baluchistan. Sind got the victory by 12 runs and he was named as the man of the match.
His international career included his first appearance in the two-day match that held in October 2015 against England, where Ahmed was again the lead-scorer for Pakistan A team. After becoming the success story in the two-day match. He appeared in the One Day International match on 13th November 2015. He also made his first Test debut on 11th August 2016 while the same tour of England. Ahmed’s first Twenty20 International debut from the national side was against Sri Lanka in the 2016 Asia Cup that held on 4th March 2016.
In 2016/19 he played for the Karachi King. He next then joint Peshawar Zalmi squad in 2017. He released from the Peshawar Zalmi and jointed Islamabad United in 2018. Recently, Ahmed played for the 2020 player auction of the Pakistan Super League. He made his T20 franchise debut for Karachi King Squad at the start of 2020. He also played in the Afghanistan Premier League tournament in 2018.
