Being deaf is all I’ve ever known. It didn’t really affect me in a negative way, as I learned to sign beginning as a toddler. What I have since learned, however, is many children don’t have access to sign languages and many parents and teachers don’t know that sign languages are equal in value to spoken languages. That’s why I support All Children Reading: A Grand Challenge for Development’s (a partnership of @usaid @worldvision and the Australian Government) #SignOnForLiteracy prize, which today announced 3 innovators that will pilot solutions to provide sign language-enabled learning to children who are deaf and hard of hearing in developing countries. This is a huge step forward in helping deaf children worldwide. Visit to learn more about these breakthrough innovations! #allchildrenreading #deafeducation #signlanguage
