Neil Patrick Harris is a popular American actor, singer, writer, producer, and television host. He is best known for his quite famous comedic television roles and dramatic and musical stage roles. He grew up in Ruidoso, New Mexico, with his elderly brother.

Achievements

He has received many accolades throughout his career. Harris received nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor–Television Series for the series Doogie Howser, M.D. (1989–1993).

In 2010, Harris won two awards at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards, winning for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Special Class Program for presenting the Tony Awards in 2009.

Harris has won the latter award three other times for hosting the show in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Career

He played Barney Stinson in the series How I Met Your Mother (2005–2014), for which he received nominated for four Emmy Awards.

Neil Patrick Harris is also best recognized for his role in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog (2008) and in the Harold & Kumar film series (2004–2011). His other film credits include Beastly (2011), The Smurfs (2011), The Smurfs 2 (2013), and Gone Girl (2014).

In 2014, he starred in the title role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway and earned them the 2014 Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. Time magazine named him 100 Most Influential People in 2010.

In 2021, he played Adult Jake Doyle in the comedy film 8-Bit Christmas and The Analyst in the science fiction film The Matrix Resurrections. His upcoming 2022 film is The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.
