Anil featured as Liaquat Ali Khan in the fiction period drama Viceroy’s House (2017). Based loosely on the events of the Indo-Pak partition, the rendition was screened at the 67th Berlin International Festival. Partition 1947 is a Hindi dubbed version of the film.

Playing lawyer Bharadwaj in Mimi (2021) very easily classifies as one of the most profound credentials for the actor. The film is a remake of the Marathi Mala Aai Vhhaychy! (2011) and was digitally released on Netflix and Jiocinema.
