Fatma Girik is a Turkish actress and politician who was born on 12th December 1942. She is known for her adorable acting skills and the way she performed in the movies. Also, she is an award-winning actress and received numerous awards and honors throughout her career life. 1- Fatma Girik’s Family Background

She was born and raised in Cankurtaran, a slum area of Istanbul. She is the first child of her father Hayri Girik, a fisherman and a driver, and Munevver Girik. Also, she has a brother named Gunay Girik, who is also an actor and is known for Insan Avcisi (1975), Kilibik (1983) and Bitmeyen Sevda (1986). However, her mother worked in a textile factory until she gave birth to Fatma.

2- Her Educational History

She has done her graduation from Ca?alo?lu Girls High School in Istanbul. After completing her studies, she decided to join showbiz and started getting many offers to work in movies.

3- Her Acting Debut

She made her acting debut with ‘Gunahkar Baba’ which means ‘Sinful Father’. The role she played was a walking lady in front of the camera. It was her first movie which was directed by Asravir Alyanak.

4- Rise To Fame

After playing minor roles, she moved forward with a leading role in Leke (The Stain) which was directed by Seyfi Havaeri. The film was released in 1958. After getting a huge success, she became the most appealing star of the Turkish cinema.

5- She Has Acted In More Than 180 Films

Three years later, she became an honored and adorable film star with her leading role in ‘Olum Pesimizde’ which means ‘Death is chasing us’. The film was directed by Memduh Un. During her entire career, she acted in more than 180 movies.

After leaving the Turkish cinema, she then decided to join Politics. After some time, she became a mayor of the district of Sisli in Istanbul. She spent her long phase of life in politics ranging from 1989 to 1994.

8- Her Love Life

Fatma was associated with a love connection with a footballer – Varol Urkmez, who was a goalkeeper of Besiktas JK in 1950. After a few years, they ended up the relationship and parted their ways. Later on, she met with producer Memduh Un, with whom she attached and decided to live with. She stayed with him illegally till his death in 2015. However, the couple couldn’t officially marry because Memduh Un’s wife refused a divorce.
