She was born on 16^th February 1985, hailing from the Kodagu district of Karnataka, India. She is the pampered daughter of Bollachanda Subhash Subbaiah and Jhansi Subbaiah. Later, she moved to Gokulam (city of Mysore) along with her parents where she studied and completed her education.

Also, she appeared in many TV advertisements and has modeled for many notable brands. She got famed after giving incredible performances in Kannada movies including “Pancharangi” which was released in the year 2010. Also, she worked in the movie named “Krishnan Marriage Story” released in 2011. She got greater success for both these films which led her to South Filmfare Awards nominations and also she was honored with a SIMA Special Appreciation Award-Kannada for the latter movie. Meanwhile, she also made her Bollywood debut movie and worked in “Oh My God” in which she appeared in a guest role. While she also worked in another Bollywood movie “Ajab Gazab Love” wherein she portrayed a lead role. Also, she worked as a model and has worked for many prestigious brands and also appeared in TV commercials including Fair & Lovely. While her acting debut is “Abhiman” which was released in the year 2009. But the film didn’t well at the box office. However, she has worked in many Bollywood and Kannada movies for which she gained much popularity.
