Özgü Namal was born on 28 December 1978 in Besiktas, Istanbul. Ozgu Namal is a Turkish actress.

When she was a child, Özgü Amel Namal began her acting career at the Masal Gerçek Theatre. Ozgu Namal completed her graduation from the theater department of the State Conservatory of Istanbul University. She professionally participated in plays such as “Tekrar Cal Sam”, “Yan Etkili Konusmalar”, and “Taraf Tutmak” amid the conservatory years.

When Ozgu Namal began her career she has had driving roles in TV series such as Yeditepe Istanbul and Hanimin Ciftligi. Ozgu Namal made her first television debut in Affet Bizi Hocam.

Later on, Ozgu Namal performed in the TV Series  Karate Can. Ozgu Namal acted in one of the longest hit series Kurtlar Vadisi as Elif Eylül, “Hanımın Çiftliği” which was based on an Orhan Kemal classic novel. Ozgu performed in the television series “Merhamet” which is originally based on a Hande Altayli novel.

In 2005, Ozgu Namal performed in the play “Kiralik Oyun”. Ozgu Namal has earned the award of “The Most Successful Comedy Actress of the Year” at the Afife Theater Awards and Sadri Alisik Theater Awards. Ozgu Namal won the award for her performance in the film Beynelmilel at the Istanbul International Film Festival.

In 2002, Ozgu Namal made her film debut in Sır Çocukları. Since then, she appeared in several other films such as Anlat İstanbul, Büyü, Organize İsler, Polis, Beynelmilel, and O… Çocukları. In 2007, Ozgu Namal has received the Best Female Actress at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for her performance in the Mutluluk film.
