Samantha Mathis (born on May 12, 1970) in New York City, U.S. She is an American actress.

Career

Mathis is the trade union leader and serves as the Vice President of SAG-AFTRA. She made her film debut role as Nora Diniro in the drama Pump Up the Volume (1990, film). She started her acting career at 16. Her first project was a commercial for “Always Slender Pads, Just For Teens”.

Later, she co-starred in Aaron’s Way and Knightwatch (1988 to 1989, TV series). She dyed her naturally blonde hair black for the role to change her appearance. She has also voiced the character, Crysta, in the animated film FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992). Mathis next performed in This Is My Life 1992, film).

In October 1992, she appeared in the play Fortinbras in New York City. From the famous Nintendo video game, she played Princess Daisy in Super Mario Bros. (1993) which was a box-office bomb but gained a cult following since its release.

In 1996, she took a minor break for a year off from acting after her mother died from breast cancer. Later, she appeared in American Psycho (2000, film). Mathis later appeared in American Psycho (2000), a film-changing novel of the same name, by Bret Easton Ellis, published in 1991.

Her 2020 musical, Whisper House, was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
