Shyam Fernando started his career working as a drama actor under the supervision of Somalatha Subasinghe with Play House Kotte. Later, he selected for the play “Veeraya Marila” which was directed by Rajitha Dissanayake.

Besides theatre plays, he worked as an actor on television and some of the television shows “Thaththa”, “Raavana”, “Appachchi”, “Ammai Duwai” “Ado” and “See Raja” are most notable shows.
