Suhasini Mulay is a graceful, lady who is an Indian actress and predominantly works in Bollywood. Also, she has worked in Marathi and Assamese films and TV programs. She was born on 20th November 1950, hailing from Patna, India where she spent her childhood. Mulay faced a tragic as she lost her father at the age of three, and since then, she was raised by her mother, who is a famed documentary filmmaker and film historian Vijaya Mulay. Suhasini Mulay calls her mother her inspiration.
Career
In 1965, Suhasini Mulay took the start of her career as a model and she was chosen by Pears Soap. It was an ad film that caught the attention of many filmmakers and the famed director Bhuvan Shome signer her for his movie in the year 1969. She has acted in many movies but she didn’t pursue it as a career. Later, she moved to Canada to study further in Agricultural Technology with a specialization in Soil Chemistry and Microbiology. Also, she got a degree in Mass Communication while her major subjects were in Film, Radio, TV, and Journalism and Print. In 1975, she worked as an assistant to a famed director Satyajit Ray for the Bengali movie named “Aranya”. Afterward, she then joined Mrinal Sen as an assistant director in “Mrigaya”. She has worked on more than 60 documentaries and also honored with National Awards for four of them. After 30 years of gap, she appeared in Gulzar’s directorial “Hu Tu Tu” for which she was honored with a National Award as the Best Supporting Actress. Mostly, she appeared as a mother in movies. Also, she worked in a TV serial “Jane Kia Baat Hui”. However, she has built a broad career in multiple fields.

Among various notable achievements, Suhasini Mulay was honored with four National Awards for four documentaries. Also, she is a victor of the National Award for the movie “Hu Tu Tu”.
