Early Life
Ahad Raza Mir was born on 29 September 1993 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. He grew up in Canada. He is the son of Asif Raza Mir who is a renowned actor and film producer in the Pakistani film industry. His mother’s name is Samra Raza Mir. Adnan Raza Mir is Ahad’s younger brother. Haroon Shahid is his first cousin who is also an actor and singer.
Ahad Raza Mir attended Performing Arts High School, New York, and graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Career Journey
At the age of 17, In 2010, Ahad Raza Mir started his acting career and he made his debut in the HUM TV’s romantic drama serial Khamosiyan as he played the role of the son of Sania Saeed and Faisal Rehman. He was doing BBA then later realized that he wanted to pursue acting as a career so he switched from BBA to BFA in the University of Calgary, Canada. Ahad started performing on stage, performing, and writing several musical plays across Canada.
In 2017, Ahad Raza Mir auditioned for the HUM TV’s production house Momina Duraid production and got to play the lead role in the famous drama serial Yaqeen Ka Safar alongside Sajal Ali and Hira Mani. At the same time, he portrayed the supporting role in the drama serial Sammi with co-star Mawra Hocane. However, Ahad gained wider popularity and fame when he played the role of Dr. Asfand Yaar in Yaqeen Ka Safar.
Mir made his singing debut with the Coke Studio (2018) season eleven, where he performed “Ko Ko Korina” with Momina Mustehsan. Although, the song was widely criticized as soon as it was released on YouTube and became the most disliked song in the history of music.
During the same year, Ahad Raza Mir made his film debut with military-drama Parwaaz Hay Junoon with co-stars Hamza Ali Abbasi, Kubra Khan, Hania Aamir, and Shaz Khan. The film was released on Eid Ul-Adha in 2018.
Ahad Raza is also famous for his other prominent roles in drama serials such as Ehd E Wafa alongside Zara Noor Abbas, Ahmed Ali Akbar, Alizeh Shah, and Osman Khalid Butt. He also made an appearance as the lead role in the TV series Yeh Dil Mera with Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui. He is one of the finest actors in the Pakistani drama industry. The actor enjoys a massive fan following on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
Mir reunited with Sajal Ali and Mawra Hocane in Hum TV’s historical drama serial Aangan (2018-2019), where he played a poet, Jameel.
Ahad Raza Mir got this golden opportunity to play Hamlet with the Shakespeare Company in a joint production with Vertigo Theatre Canada. He is the first South Asian actor to play the role professionally in Canada.
