He plays only the limited-overs formats of the match. Munro has been the player of New Zealand’s Under 19 squad in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket world Cup in Sri Lanka. Now a day, he plays New Zealand’s domestic first-class cricket for the Auckland Cricket squad. Munro has the honor of the first player who ever scored three Twenty20 International centuries.

Munro got his early studies in Maidstone Primary School in Tongaat, South Africa. Then his family moved to New Zealand, where he attended the Pakuranga College, New Zealand. He has a keen interest in cricket since his adulthood and has represented his team in the 1st XI cricket matches of his school.

Career Journey

Munro started his professional cricket career after joining to Auckland Aces team where he played several match since 2006. He has been remain the player of Worcestershire domestic cricket structure of England for 2014 to 2015.

In 2017, Munro played for the Sydney Sixers against the Thunder in the Big Bash League at the SCG. Apart from this, the player has also signed for the Balkh’s squad in September 2018 for the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League tournament. In 2019, he played the Global T20 Canada tournament for the Brampton Wolves franchise squad. Munro has been the player of the Indian Premier League for long. He was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2016. Later on, he was signed by the Delhi Capitals for the 2018 and then 2019 IPL auction.

Munro performed excellently in his international debut at the series against Sri Lanka at Eden Park. It was the last ODI and second T20Is in this series. Munro got man of the match award to record the second-fastest T20I fifty ever did within only 14 balls, along with the seven sixes. It is also the fastest fifty by any New Zealand player.

On 4th November 2017, Munro became the second player of New Zealand and the fourth player of the World whoever score two T20I centuries in his second T20I series of the Indian tour. It was his second T20 International century.

As concerned as his career in PSL, he first picked by Karachi Kings for the 2018 and 2019 PSL draft. Now a day, he is playing for the Islamabad United in the Diamond Category round in the 2020 PSL tournament.

The success was not ended here, he became the first cricketer whoever score three centuries in the Twenty20 International cricket as well as the number 1 Twenty20 International batsman in the world on 3rd January 2018 while a series against West Indies. In 2019, he was awarded the annual New Zealand Cricket awards as the ANZ International Men’s T20 Player of the Year. His success led him to get the selection in the New Zealand Squad for the 2019 session of the Cricket World Cup.
