An American singer-songwriter and guitarist John Clayton Mayer. He was born and grew up in Fairfield County, Connecticut. He joined Berklee College of Music in Boston. Later, he left it and moved to Atlanta in 1997 with Clay Cook. Then, together, they formed a short-lived two-man band named Lo-Fi Masters. After parting their ways, Mayer continued to play local clubs, refining his skills and gaining a following.
Career
Initially, Mayer skipped college as he wanted to pursue music as a career, but his parents were against his decision as they wanted him to continue his studies.
At the age of 19, he enrolled in the Berklee College of Music. In his next two semesters at Berklee, he and friend Clay Cook moved to Atlanta. In Atlanta, they founded a group called LoFi Masters and played local coffee houses and clubs like Eddie’s Attic. But later, the duo parted their ways, and Mayor continued to play as a solo singer and musician at different spots.
His extraordinary efforts and hard work led him to get many opportunities and this helped him to win many awards throughout his career life.
He is the winner of many awards including Pollstar Concert Industry Awards,31st Annual American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, Radio Music Awards, Teen People Awards, and many more that are prominent on the list.
