Kay Kay Menon is a renowned Indian movie, television and stage actor who predominantly works in Hindi movies, and also in Tamil, Telugu and Guajarati cinema. He has also received best actor award for the movie Shoonya from Festival of Asian and Arab cinema.
Kay Kay Menon was born in Kerala, India on 2nd October, 1966. He was raised in Pune and Ambarnath. His childhood was spent in “H” type Khadki, Rangehills, which were workshop quarters for those individuals working in ammunition or highly explosives factory outlets. Menon’s father was commonly known as “Cashier Menon”. When he was very young, his parents shifted from Kerala to Mumbai. He imagines Mumbai to be his homeland though has confessed to settle in Kerala in near future.
Menon was called as Kichu amongst his friends. He completed his schooling at St Joseph’s Boys School Khadki. In the year 1981, Kay Kay Menon passed his 10th grade. He earned his Bachelors degree from Mumbai University and his Masters of Business Administration degree from University of Pune, graduating in the year 1988 with a specialization in marketing.
Kay Kay Menon’s initial focus was working in TV commercial industry. He was appeared in Marlboro cigarette and first Kinetic Honda advertisements. He initiated his career with theatre productions wherein he met his wife named Nivedita Bhattacharya. In initial years of his career, Menon appeared in television serials like Pradhan Mantri and tele movies like Last Train To Mahakali and Zebra 2. He was first noted in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi wherein he was massively acclaimed with associated newcomer named Chitrangada Singh and received enormous acclamation for his remarkable performance.
Kay Kay Menon’s performance as tormented DCP Rakesh Maria in the film Black Friday has been massively acclaimed and appreciated. The Sunday Version of Indian Express defined his performance as “Excellent as always”. In the year 2007, he appeared in critically and commercially successful movie Life in a Metro. In the year 2008, Menon was exceedingly valued for his performance in the movie titled Shaurya. He portrayed a negative role in the movie titled Drona alongside Abhishek Bachchan, though the movie was a big flop. In the year 2009, Kay Kay Menon appeared in The Stoneman Murders wherein he portrayed the role of a police officer.
