Seema Pahwa is an actress, filmmaker, hailing from India. She has acted in various Bollywood movies and has marked her identity in the cinematic world. She is mainly known for the role played in the movie ‘Bala’ which was released in the year 2019. She was born on 10th February 1962, new Delhi, India where she raised and grew up along with siblings and parents.
Career
She worked in various Bollywood movies and is known for her versatility and acting skills. In 1984, she started her career and appeared on “Hum Log” which was a Doordarshan soap opera show that aired from 1984 to 1985. In the show, she played the role of Badki. And the show became the reason for her prominence. Since then, she appeared in several hit movies and television shows as well.
Initially, she worked as a theatre actress and worked with the Delhi-based theatre group named “Sambhav”. It was the time when she was not in Mumbai. While after returning to Mumbai in 1994, she started appearing in films and continue her television and theatre career.
From 2006-2009, she worked in a most popular Zee TV’s soap opera serial named “Kasam Se” which was directed by Ekta Kapoor. In the serial, she played the role of Maasi. Seema Pahwa played the role effectively and won the hearts of many.
Later in 2014, she got acclaim for an experimental theatre performance of satire on the middle-class named “Saag Meat” which was directed by Bisham Sahni. Also, she became famous for the role of a single mom she played in the series named “Hip Hip Hurray”.
Apart from this, she made amazing appearances in the Bollywood film industry and appeared in hit movies like; “Barelli Ki Barfi” which was released in 2017. Also, she appeared in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” which was another best release of 2017. Alongside this, she appeared in the movie named “Bala”, which was released in 2019. The film features the most-liked actor, singer, Ayushman Khurrana.
She won several awards and honors throughout her film career and the best is she received the Star Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2015.

Among her major achievements, she won the Star Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2015 for the movie named “Ankhon Dekhi”. Also, she won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for “Barelli Ki Barfi” and “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” in 2017. Apart from this, she earned a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress at 65th Filmfare Awards for “Bala” 2019.
