Singampuli is an actor, director who works in the Tamil film industry and is mainly known for his directorial “Red which was released in 2002, and “Maayavi” which was released in 2005. Also, he appeared in movies in which he played supporting roles.

He was born in Theni, Periyakulam, India where he raised and grew up along with siblings and parents. He did Engineering from Banglore and later, he moved to Chennai to pursue acting as a career.

Career

Initially, Singampuli worked as an assistant director with Sunder. C. Singampuli suggested the director for the selection of location for the film shot of “Unnaithedi”. Sunder .C wrote the film story and decided to cast Ajith Kumar for this movie. Later, he directed Singampuli and In 2002, he directed the film “Red” which became an instant hit of the year.

In 2005, Singampuli directed another movie “Maayavi” which was a kidnap comedy film and it features Suriya and Jyothika for which he got huge acclaim.

In 2009, the director, Bala approached him to perform in his movie “Naan Kadavul” and since then Singmpuli worked in various movies in which he played supporting roles.

While his latest directorial “Psycho” gained huge recognition and got a very place in the film industry.

Moreover, very few people know that Singampuli is blessed with some extraordinary skills like he is a good scriptwriter. Well… he made his career broad and did various roles from comic to supporting as well. He is noted for his amazing performances given throughout the career.
