Career

In 1996, Tota Roy Chowdhury took the start of his professional career with a Bengali debut movie “Lathi” for which he won the National Award and became famous. He then appeared in another award-winning movie “Chokher Bali” which was directed by Rituparno Ghosh and it was released in the year 2003. In 2016, he made his Hindi debut movie “Kahani 2: Durga Rani Singh” which was directed by Sujoy Ghosh. While initially, during college days, he wanted to be an Army Officer and prepared for CDS exams but later, he discovered his interest in acting and he famed director Prabhat Roy approached him to play a minor role in his film project. He accepted his offer and signed a contract to appear in a debut movie “Lathi” which became the reason for his constant success. Afterward, he appeared in many movies and marked his identity in Hindi and Bengali cinema. In 2016, he made his major breakthrough in Hindi cinema and worked alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the movie “Choker Bali”. The most talented actor has won several awards including the BFJA Award for the category of Best Actor. Meanwhile, he worked in the Tamil cinema and appeared in many movies. Apart from movies, he also worked in various TV series and became famous for playing unique roles. After continuous efforts, he won the hearts of many with his incredible performances.
