Trisha was very much interested in adopting criminal psychology but suddenly she moved her mind towards acting. But she never distracted herself from studies. Her first look on the screen was in a song meri chunnar udd udd jay. After this in a Tamil movie Lesa Lesha, Trisha was cast, this movie became the start of her acting career. She was also passionate about her studies but the shooting schedule was also tough so she managed her studies by taking summer classes.

Laysa Laysa was Trisha’s 1st project directed by Priyadarshan because of the promotional posters of this picturer she was offered to work in the musical hit of AR Rehman Enakku 20 Unakku 18. Because of the delay of these two projects, Thisha’s first movie on screen was Ameer’s Mounam Pesiyadhe, this was one of the super hit films because of this people started recognizing Trisha as a refreshing new face.
Trisha cast for the role of a cancer patient in the movie Manasellam. After this grand hit, she appeared in film Saamy as polite spoken Brahmin girl. This character got very positive appraisals from the viewers. Masala flick a grand blockbuster movie in the history after this Trisha got several high budget productions
In 2004 her first Telugu debuted film was released named Varsham, which was a most romantic film. Trisha got much fame because of her natural acting in this Telugu movie. The movie also runs for 175 days in theatre. In an action comedy film Ghilli, she played as Dhanalakshmi a helpless girl who saved herself from clutches because of a kabbadi player. This film was one of the biggest successes of Trisha. Next, she played a small role in political drama Aayutha Ezhuthu, by Mani Ratnam’s but unfortunately, this movie of her was not got any good reviews and was bad on the box office.
In the next two years, Trisha worked hard and she had 12 releases in total. She was a part of Thirupaachi and Aaru which were the two male-oriented masala flicks of her. These two hit movies were directed by Perarasu and Hari. Though in these movies Trisha’s role was limited the movies were a major commercial success.
With Siddharth Trisha begun her second Telugu project which was a drama named Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, because of her role as a village girl Siri, Trisha received unanimous praise. Later Trisha also worked in the remade Tamil.films includes N Lingusamy’s Ji, Aathi, Aaru. After her talent was recognized by M S Raju and he cast her in his movie. Her next film was directed by Prabhu Deva named Pournami, she worked in this movie with the star cast which became the grand hir on box office. Trisha’s further two Telugu movies were Stalin alongside Chiranjeevi and Sainikudu alongside Mahesh Babu. Trisha again hit the box office with her grand release Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa written by Gautham Menon’ in 2010, it was a romantic drama in which Trisha played a role of Malayali girl Jessie. In 2010 also Trisha had a soul Telgu release Namo Venkatesa. Trisha performed well in her Bollywood debut film Khatta Meetha.
In 2011 she releases two wonderful ventures named Theenmaar in Telugu and Venkat Prabhu’s Mankatha in Tamil which became the highest Tamil film of 2011.
In the year 2012, Trisha again gave two hit Telgu releases named Bodyguard and Dammu. 2013 is the year of Trisha’s again best releases named Samar and comedy-drama Endrendrum Punnagai.In the same year, Trisha worked in two women-centric” bilingual projects titled Rambha Urvasi Menaka and Kannaale Kannan.
In 2015 she worked in Yennai Arindha with Arijit Kumar. Thoongavanam opposite Kamal Hassan. Next, she played in Bhooloham and in a horror film Aranmanai 2.
In 2018 Trisha Made her Malayalam debut film titled Hey Jude. She also appeared in Tamil romantic drama 96 as a leading role. She also cast in India today and nowadays she is busy with the shooting of her three new movies titled, Bhogi, Garjanai, and Petta.
