Vela Ramamoorthy is a known Tamil film writer and has also worked in Tamil language movies. He was born on 1st February 1975 in Perunali, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu in India. He has done his schooling from KHN High School, Perunali and he then further graduated with Pre University Course.

After completing his studies he got selected in the Army and served there for five years. After that, he also worked for Indian post service for some time. During his post office job, many people would come to his office to meet him as he was popular for his passion for writing.

Career

He started his film career as a scriptwriter and penned down several scripts for Tamil movies. Some of his scripts were critically appreciated as well. He also authored many novels but those which were highly acclaimed are Pattathu Yaanai, Kutraparambarai (initially known as Kootanchoru), and Kuruthi Aattam.

He started his acting career in 2013 with the movie Madha Yaanai Kootham. He was lucky enough to get massively applauded for his character as Veera Thevar and then there was no looking back for him. He has always been dedicated to his acting career that once he had learned horse riding for one of the acting projects.

He acted in several Tamil movies and played many supporting characters in them. He has acted in films including:
