Vikas Khanna is a renowned Indian Chef, Philanthropist, Restaurateur, Author and Writer. He was born in Amritsar, Punjab, India on 14th November, 1971.
Vikas was born and raised in Amritsar and since her childhood, he created a fascination towards cooking. From his early age, he made up his mind that he will create his professional career into this field. Vikas Khanna was born with lopsided legs and got them fixed in his 13 years of age. He to follow his interest in cooking initiated to learn cook recipes from his grandma. He earned his graduation degree with a major in Hotel Management from Welcomgroup School of Hotel Management. Upon completion of his graduation degree, he managed an event called Saanch.
Vikas Khanna initiated his professional career through joining Leela Hotels Group and afterwards worked with Taj Group of Hotels and Welcome Group. After working at numerous hotels, he ultimately established his own bistro called Junoon in New York City. The restaurant has received numerous positive remarks and has been complimented with Michelin Star for more than 6 years.
Vikas Khanna is also recognized as a famous cookbook author and has published a number of excpetional cookbooks that world have ever seen. Amongst all cookbooks that he has written, a few of the cookbooks which received international gratitude include Savor Mumbai, Modern Indian Cooking; Shaken & Stirred – A Non-Alcoholic Drinks Book and World Feast – My Favorite Kitchen. Vikas rose to utmost fame after he published a cookbook of 1200 pages titled “UTSAV- A Culinary Epic of Indian Festivals”. The cookbook is considered amongst the most costly books written as it costs around INR 8 lakhs for a single copy. The book weighs around 16kg and has been written with golden ink. He gifted his cookbook copies to famous personalities like Indian PM Narendra Modi, Hillary Clinton and Dalai Lama.
Vikas Khanna has also presented a number of cooking shows. He has been hosting Master Chef India since Season 2. He also presented Twist of Taste and also starred as a visitant judge on Master Chef Australia. Vikas has also made his presence on famous television show titled Nokia Lumia: Your Wish Is My App. Along with small screen, he has also starred in a documentary film serial titled Holy Kitchens.
