Ashwini Kalsekar is a most-talented and high-spirited film and TV actress who has been working for Marathi and Hindi cinema and entertainment industry. Mostly, she plays roles in daily soaps and films for which she gained much popularity during her career life. Also, she has worked alongside well-known film directors including Sri Ram Raghavan, Rohit Shetty, and Ram Gopal Varma. She has acted in a variety of TV serials and films (Hindi and Marathi) but mainly known for the role as Asha as a cop played in the most-watched serial “CID”.
Career
In 1999, she took the start of her professional career and appeared in the science fiction comic serial named “Mr. Gayab” which was aired on Zee TV channel. While the serial became most popular at that time as she appeared as a lead character in that serial. Moreover, she is popular for playing roles of the villain as Shalaka Catwoman appeared in a kid’s superhero serial named “Shaktimaan”. Later, she made an appearance in Ekta Kapoor’s directorial “Kasam Seh”. While one of her popular serials includes “Kavach”. Later, she appeared as a Judge in the Marathi TV reality show named “Fu Bai Fu”. Afterward, she moved into movies and made a Telugu debut movie in which she worked alongside her husband Badrinath. In 2019, she also appeared in Zee 5 – Web series named “Chargesheet: The Shuttlecock Murder” and another web series “Cheesecake” by Mx player. Moreover, Ashwini Kalsekar has been part of the Golmaal series since the beginning. While her upcoming project is “Laxmi Bomb” which is set to release in 2020. However, she has worked on many projects both in movies and TV serials and has become famous for her remarkable performances.
Achievements
The most talented actress, Ashwini Kalsekar was awarded the 6th Indian Telly awards for the category of Best Actress (negative role) for the serial “Kasam She” in 2006.
