Nimra Bucha is a glamorous Pakistani television and film actress. She is the elder sister of a famous television anchor, Sana Bucha. Nimra along with her family settled to London in the late 90s. They came back to Karachi after spending 12 years in the UK, this was the time when she started her showbiz career. She got married to a journalist and author person, Mohammed Hanif. The couple has a teenage son, Chanan. She has studied drama at Bard College, New York, USA.
Nimra Bucha was originally worked as a theatre actor in London. She joined the Pakistani showbiz industry when she returned to her homeland in the late 2000s. Now, Nimra started acting career in the 2010 drama series “Daam” which was premiered on ARY Digital. Her portrayal as Aasma in this drama alongside Sanam Baloch, Aamina Sheikh, and Adeel Hussain was an attempt to seize the role. The drama is the story of two close friends of the opposite social class.
She next then appeared as Soni in the drama serial “Parsa” which is based on the Bushra Rahman’s novel of the same name. It focused on the cultural and societal issues of the permissibility of inter-faith marriages. The drama tells the story of a Muslim girl Parsa, who falls in love with a Christian guy, David. The drama was aired on Hum TV in 2015. This drama was very famous and her performance was also acclaimed by the public.
In 2012, she played a supportive role in the Sarmad Khoosat directed drama serial “Mera Yaqeen” which was aired on ARY. Where she played the role of Nazish, starring Faisal Qureshi, Savera Nadeem, and Farhan Ali Agha.
Nimra made her film debut in the very blockbuster hit film “Manto” in 2015. This was her first Lollywood debut which is a biographical drama film. This film is based on the life of a famous British Indian short-story writer Sadat Hassan Manto. She was starred with Sarmad Khoosat who played the title role of film. The film was a major success and won seven different national awards at various awards functions. Up to date, Nimra has played various interesting and stereotypical roles.
Her upcoming projects, include “Senti Aur Mental” which is a 2020 Yasra Rizvi directed and written upcoming Pakistani comedy film. She played a supporting role along with Zain Afzal, Yasra Rizvi and Yousaf Bashir Qureshi as the lead actors. The film based on a wedding. Another upcoming film is “Gardaap” which is a love story of a beautiful couple. Here, she also played a supportive role with Fawad Khan and Amna Ilyas as the main cast.
