Ashok Selvan is an Indian film actor who made his breakthrough as a lead role in the movie named “Soodhu Kavvum” which was released in 2013. He also worked in C.V. Kumar’s productions, such as; “Pizza II: Villa” which was released in 2013, and “Thegidi” released in 2014, but he didn’t get much acclaim.

He was born on 8^th November 1989, Tamil Nadu, India and he moved to Chennai at the age of three and completed schooling from Santhome Higher Secondary School. Later, he did graduation from Loyola College in Visual Communication.

During college days, he took part in short movies, participated a dozen short films, and also directed a few as well, such as; “Green”.

Career

 After completing studies, he looked for opportunities to work in the movies as an actor and auditioned for roles, such as; “Inidhu Inidhu” which was a production of Prakash Raj. He also appeared in “7aam Arivu” which was directed by Suriya’s friend.

Also, Ashok Selvan featured in “Chakri Tolet’s Billa 2” for which he got immense love and recognition.

He then appeared in “Pizza”, “Soodhu Kavvum” which was a Black Comedy and released in 2013. In the movie, he worked alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Snachita Shetty, and others. The film became a hit and got commercial success.

Later, Ashok Selvan was selected to play the role in the movie “Pizza II: Villa” which was a psychological thriller and directed by Deepan Chakravarthy. The film became an instant hit and got positive reviews from film critics and fans as well. He also appeared in “Thegidi” which was directed by P. Ramesh and the film was a murder mystery story.

However, he worked in various movies and commercials to mark his identity in Tamil cinema. While his fans noted him for his amazing performances.

 Achievements

Among various achievements, he awarded the Best Film Award for “Green” at the 2012 International Tamil Thoth Conference held in Singapore. Also, he earned a nomination of the Vijay Award for Best Debut Actor.
