Sakshi Tanwar is an Indian television actress who is mainly known for her diligent work and continuous efforts that proved her as the best actress. She has made her career broad in multiple fields, such as; films, short films, television shows, television drama serials, web series, and so on. One of the most popular drama serials is “Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki” and “Bade Ache Lagte Hain” which became the most-watched serials of India.

The most-talented, the veteran star was born on 12^th January 1973, India. She belongs to a Hindu family and was born to Rajendra Singh Tanwar who is a retired CBI officer.

She did graduation from Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi, India. Later, she started working as a trainee at a five-star hotel. While in college, she was the president and the secretary of dramatic society.

Career

In 1998, she started her career and gave an audition for the post of a national broadcaster “Doordarshan’s film songs which were based on a program named “Albela Sur Mela” and luckily, she was appointed as a presenter.

After gaining popularity, she acted in most-watched, most popular serial “Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki” in which she played the role of Parwati Agarwal for which she earned huge appreciation and applause from millions of viewers. The serial became hit not just in India but millions of people watched in Pakistan as well and praised her character.

In 2011, she appeared in another serial named “Bade Ache Lagte Hain” in which she portrayed the role of Priya alongside Ram Kapoor. In 2012, she gave an appearance in the most celebrated television show “Kon Banega Crorepati”.

In 2016, Sakshi Tanwar worked in the Bollywood movie named “Dangal” wherein she played the role of a Daya Kaur, (a wife of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat)-character played by superstar Amir Khan.

Later in 2018, she made a comeback on television and appeared in a serial named “Tyohaar Ki Thaali” which was initially telecasted by Epic Channel.

While some of her most-watched serials are “Devi”, “Kutumb”, “Jasi Jesi Koi Nahin”, “Balika Vadu” and others.

Also, she worked in a short-film named “Ghar Ki Murgi” in which she played the role of a Seema Batra.

Alongside this, she also worked in feature-length films in which some of them are worth sharing to watch, such as; “O re Manva” (2006), “C Kkompany”(2008), “Saluun” (2009), “Coffee House” (2009), “Atankwadi Uncle” (2011) and the list goes on.

Achievements

Among various awards, she won the Indian Telly Awards for the Best Actress (Lead) in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki in 2003. Fortunately, she won several awards for this role as the serial became the top hit those days. Also, she won the 6th Boroplus Gold Awards for the Best Actress (Critics) for the role she played as Priya Kapoor.

Personal life

In 2018, the veteran star became a single mom as she adopted a baby of nine months and named her Dityaa Tanwar.
