She was born on 8th February 1981. She is the daughter of Pakistani well-known actress and social activist, Seemi Raheel and sister of a Pakistani modal and actor, Daniyal Raheel. Her father’s name is Shahid Raheel who is an Army Officer. She got her secondary education from Lahore Grammar School and higher secondary from Lahore College of Arts and Sciences. She has also got a diploma in Dancing, Drama, and Scriptwriting from London. She got married to a businessman, Atif Azhar Malik in 2009. Now she has blessed with a daughter and a son.
Career Journey
Mehreen Raheel started her showbiz career as a commercial model when she was just at the age of eight years. However, she has worked as a model in various Pakistani and international commercials, including ICI, Telenor, Head and Shoulders, Ufone, Pantene, PTCL, Lipton, and Sooper Biscuit. She is best known for her Ufone commercial.
Mehreen Raheel started her acting career as a side character on a Hum TV drama serial “Ajnabee Rastay”. After this drama, she has portrayed in many dramas, such as in “Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan” starred with Faisal Qureshi, Adnan Siddiqui, Samina Peerzada, and Humayun Saeed. This drama is based on the Urdu novel written by Umera Ahmad of the same name which revolves around the story of Saba and her daughter Sara. Another hit drama is “Dastaan”, starred with Fawad Khan, Sanam Baloch, Saba Qamar, and Ahsan Khan. This drama is based on the Urdu novel Bano written by Razia Butt which tells the story of the partition of the Indian Subcontinent and independence of Pakistan.
Her 2012 block blaster drama is “Zindagi Gulzar Hai” starred with Sanam Saeed, Fawad Khan on Hum TV. This drama is based on the novel of Umera Ahmed of the same name and is one of the famous drama of 2012 and broadcast in eleven Arab countries, European countries, Iran and India. The drama tells a story of two people of opposite thoughts and financial status who has a strong female protagonist.
Mehreen Raheel made her acting debut on the large screen in “Virsa” opposite Indian actor Arya Babbar. The film is an Indo-Pakistani Punjabi movie which revolves around the social and cultural values. She made her second film debut in British-Pakistan award-winning film “Tamanna” opposite Salman Shahid which was directed by Steven Dean Moore, a British director. This film is based on Anthony Shaffer’s play, Sleuth and incorporates the elements of dark humor, crime, and revenge.
