Simple Kapadia (Late) was a renowned Hindi film actress and also recognized as the Best Costume Designer. She was active in her career from 1987 until her death. She was born on 15th August 1958 and died on 10th November 2009. She was the daughter of Chunnibhai and Betty Kapadia who raised four kids Dimple Kapadia, who is an elder daughter and became a famed actress, another sister, Reem Kapadia who died because of drug overuse, Simple Kapadia (late), and a son named Suhail Kapadia Aka Munna. Simple Kapadia had a son named Karan Kapadia.
Career
Simple Kapadia was a famed costume designer of Bollywood and became one of the most popular Indian actresses during the 70s to 80s. She had strong connections with the Hindi cinema as her elder sister, Dimple Kapadia, Rajesh Khanna (brother-in-law), and their daughters Twinkle Khanna (elder), Rinkle Aka Rinke Khanna (younger) both had worked in many Bollywood movies. Simple Kapadia did many movies and became the most famous actress of her time. Alongside this, she had worked for many movies as a costume designer as well. Simple Kapadia had amazing acting prowess who proved her the best actress. She appeared in “Lootmaar” as a dancer, “Pyar Ke Do Pal”, “Jeevan Dhara” and others that are worth watching. She had worked in more than 20 movies and after doing an item song in the movie “Parakh”, she left the film industry in the year 1987. Later, Simple Kapadia decided to take a new turn and worked as a Costume Designer in the Bollywood film industry. Eventually, she got much success and recognition in this field, and she was honored with the National Award for her Costume Design in the movie “Rudaali”. Afterward, she made costumes for many movies including “Shaheed” which became the hit movie in the film industry. In 2006, she was diagnosed with Cancer but despite the severe pain, she didn’t quit and worked as a costume designer till her death in 2009.
