1- Ayhan Isik’s Family Background

He was born to Turkish parents, and has six siblings. He was the youngest among all siblings. Ayhan lost his father at the age of 6 years. He was so closed to his father and inspired by him.

2- His Educational Background

Ayhan got his school education from Izmir and Istanbul, where he lived after his elder brother went to college. He enjoyed going to school. Apart from his studies, he loves to paint and always indulge himself in art activities. He was a friendly child and made many friends in Istanbul.

3- His Career Beginning

After secondary school, he joined the art department of the State Fine Arts Academy. He was a great painter and joined a group of young painters who called themselves “The Ten” because they were then personal painters. His goal was to create a union of Eastern and Western features in the painting, but one of his supporting goals was to reach the mastery of the basic man, which would later be fulfilled as a character on screen.

4- His Acting Debut

He started his acting career by making a debut movie with ‘Yavuz Sultan Selim ve Yaniceri Hasan’ which was a historical film and directed by Orhan Murat Ariburnu. Just after that, he met Omer Lutfi Akad and they both made a film series named “?ngiliz Kemal” (English Kemal), which was an action thriller.

Gradually, he became a renowned actor of Turkish cinema. In 1952, a movie titled’ “Kanun Nam?na” (In the Name of the Law), directed by Akad, in which Ayhan worked together with Gulistan Guzey. The movie was based on ordinary people and the movie got a huge success. What’s more, the audience loved the movie and they more loved with Ayhan Isik for his exceptional performance. That was a time when Ayhan became more popular and gave film after film which turned into a biggest cause behind his success.

6- He Visited Many Countries To Market Turkish Movies

After gaining much popularity and fame, Ayhan was not satisfied with his work and then, he decided to visit some countries including Italy and Iran. It was just because of getting more opportunities and contacts to market Turkish films.

7- His Biggest Triumph

Luckily, Ayhan reached a real victory and he got a film named ‘ Better Life’ which was directed by Metin Erksan. The film was based on a love story which would become a trademark for his movies.

Ayhan Isik died at the age of 50 in 1979. It was a big shock for his companions, family, and fans. He was known for his kind nature and peaceful life which was totally free from any kind of rumors and scandals.
