1. Diagnosed With Kidney Stones

Simone was suffering from right-side abdominal ache. This caused her to go to the emergency room only one day before leading her team to gold at the World Gymnastics Championships in Doha. She was diagnosed with a kidney stone.  She did, however, go out and record the top individual points on the beam and vault. And finished second on the uneven bars. [1]

2. Pet Lover

Simone appears to be quite interested in animals. She has two French bulldogs named Lilo and Rambo, which she frequently shows on their Instagram account.

3. Her Parents Were Unable To Raise Her

Biles was separated from her real mother when she was a child. Her parents suffered from addiction and were unable to properly raise her. She was then placed in foster care with her three siblings. Later, her maternal grandfather stepped in to care for the children. Simone was formally adopted when she was six years old, together with her younger sister Adria. [2]

She earned four gold medals in a single game at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. And became the first gymnast in history to win three consecutive world all-around titles at that tournament.

5. Scared Of Bees

One medalist reported Simone saw a bee in her bouquet when she collected the gold medal at the 2014 World Championships. She burst up laughing and leaped off the podium to avoid the bee. She tossed the flowers on the ground and danced away from the insect. [3]

6. Her Sister Is Also A Trained Gymnast

Her sister Adria trained alongside Biles until she was 16 years old. Adira, who is the same height as Simone Biles, adores her sister and frequently refers to her as “fearless.” She told ESPN that when they were tiny children, Simone would leap from a second-story railing onto a couch one story down.

7. Interested In Gymnastic Since Her Childhood

Simone was six years old when she expressed an interest in gymnastics. She has been a natural gymnast since she was a toddler. At a young age, she began teaching herself to flip backward off mailboxes.

8. Suffered From ADHD In Her Childhood

Biles was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and currently takes Ritalin, a stimulant on the agency’s prohibited list. Biles, on the other hand, has received permission from USA Gymnastics to take the medicine under a therapeutic-use exemption. She took to Twitter to express that taking ADHD medication is not something to be embarrassed about. [4]
